Open Box Computers
Think Outside The Box with Open Box Computers
If you ever find yourself in a situation in which refurbished computers won’t fit your requirements, there is still a way to get great technology deals. In fact, you can buy virtually new computers and still pay considerably less than your peers.
We’re talking about Open Box computers. These computers are essentially new, but we sell them at 20 to 40% discount. In our case, “Open Box” simply means that the computers have left the factory. They may have not even been opened, but because of manufacturer policy, they cannot be sold as new again.
Open Box computers offer the same fast performance and computing power. The only difference is that they cost less.
Even the term “Open Box” can be misleading. Very often, the boxes haven’t even been opened.
Why Are These Computers Returned?
Open Box computers leave the factory and come back. Usually they leave the factory in very large shipments to enterprise customers (like when Dell sends 500 computers to a corporate headquarters, for instance). These enterprise customers may send the computers back because they ordered too many, or in some cases because the computers were configured incorrectly. In the vast majority of cases, the computers have not yet been turned on, much less taken out of the box.
Why Do They Have “Factory Refurbished” Stickers?
Factory Refurbished is the technical term for Open Box computers. But the word “refurbished” here can be a bit misleading. Even if a computer has not been opened, a manufacturer will still put a “factory refurbished” sticker on the box to denote that it cannot be sold as “new.”
How Do I Know If I’m Getting A Reliable Open Box Computer?
As you may have guessed, “Open Box” can refer to a wide variety of computers that have had different histories. Some have been used and returned, others never opened. The important thing is to have a reliable source that can attest that the computers are basically as good as new. Compugen Education is that reliable source.
How Much Will I Save?
Open Box computers cost 20 to 40% less than their “new” counterparts. This is remarkable because the computers are essentially the same.
