GREEN FOR GOOD
Even as technology solves so many problems, it also presents us with a difficult one: what to do with all our used technology assets?
Each year, millions of computers, smart phones, tablets and more end up in landfills because they haven’t been properly disposed of or repurposed. Toxins and heavy metals end up in our soil because of this oversight, affecting our environment and our health.
But it doesn’t have to be this way.
That’s why we created Green4Good. Green4Good is an award-winning technology asset recycling program that takes used machines destined for landfill and turns them into refurbished computers than can be used for years. Of the 600K+ assets that Green4Good has received, over 92% get a second life while the rest are recycled for parts and disposed of in a safe, secure and environmentally conscious way. In the meantime, the revenue generated from the program has resulted in more than over $1.2million donated to charities and has enabled initiatives where refurbished computers are provided to families in need.
It sounds too good to be true. But it’s not.
In fact, we think it’s common sense. The idea that used computers are going to waste when we are working tirelessly to bridge the digital divide is difficult to swallow. Why not use the millions of assets that are retired each year to help bridge this gap?
How It Works
Get in touch with us for an assessment of your technology assets. We will then arrange for secure shipment of the assets to our warehouse for processing. We are very serious about security and we ensure that all your technology assets are data-wiped according to the rigorous standards set by the department of defense.
Once the machines are data-wiped, we use diagnostics programs to assess whether they will be refurbished for donation to those in need, or responsibly recycled. In the event that they are recycled, we utilize advanced methods of breaking down the machines into their component metals without releasing any harmful dust into the atmosphere and without sending anything to landfill. The result is processed metals that are re-smelted in order to produce new products. Learn more about our recycling process here.
