Configurations Services
Compugen has invested in a 125,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art, ISO 9001:2008 certified Technology Configuration Centre where we can configure hardware, facilitate proof-of-concept product evaluations and assist customers with testing and environment simulations. On average, the Centre has the capacity to process 350 systems per shift, with the flexibility to increase technical staff and work three shifts per day, for an approximate total of 1,000 systems per day.
Our vision has been to centralize configuration management processes across our customers’ operating divisions, thus improving levels of quality control and productivity, and minimizing the amount of time spent creating and testing new configurations.
To achieve Compugen Education’s commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, the Configuration Centre has implemented and achieved the following objectives across all services:
- Zero tolerance for defects
- Testing 100% of configured systems
- Complete logging of configuration activities in configuration records
- Quality assurance teams ensure that every completed system is properly configured according to your instructions
- Quick response and resolution with our technical support team
- Close integration with the Customer Support and Warranty & Repair Centre
Configuration Management
According to ITIL, a Configuration Management process provides identification, control, status accounting and verification of the components of the IT infrastructure such as configuration items or assets such as PCs, printers, software, business services and so on. Compugen Education has the expertise to assist customers in the creation of an ITIL-compliant Configuration Management process.
The benefits of Configuration Management, when used in concert with the other ITIL Service Management disciplines, include:
- Reducing the time (and hassle) required to log a call with customer support
- Improving the accuracy of fault diagnosis and incident allocation to support teams, thus reducing overall problem resolution time
- Preventing outages caused by poorly planned changes by revealing the full impact and risk of any change
- Assisting recovery following a disaster by providing an inventory of all essential equipment, software, configurations, users, suppliers, locations and documentation
- Providing the list of software authorized for use on a given PC, and which PCs are authorized to receive a new release of software
