Lenovo Becomes A Platinum Sponsor of Green4Good
Here at Compugen Education, we’re thrilled that Lenovo has become a Platinum Sponsor of Green4Good, our charitable and environmental program that takes used computers and puts them to good use in society. Green4Good is a result of our passion for not letting good computers go to landfill – and instead providing them to students, families and organizations in need. With Lenovo’s partnership, the program will be able to do even more to promote end-of-first-life® reuse of technology, to provide funds and computers to those in need, to manage legacy data security, and to prevent the environmental destruction that results when computers go to landfill.
Green4Good was launched in 2009 and has since captured the hearts and imaginations of businesses and charities all across Canada. The program has won many awards including Best Green Solution, Microsoft’s Sustainability Partner, Toronto Board Of Trade’s Sustainability and the Green Toronto award. Its charitable partners include The Canadian Centre for Abuse Awareness, Friends of the Earth, Massey Centre for Women, Project Childcare Foundation,Sky’s the Limit, Woodgreen Community Services, World Wildlife Fund, among others.
Green4Good recently reported that it had diverted over 600,000 IT assets from landfill, with over 90% successfully refurbished for reuse, and generated close to $2,000,000 for charities.
